It's hard for me not to give 4 stars here-so just know it's very close. I have found the staff very nice. They also speak very good English too-if you don't speak Spanish and are intimidated-don't be. The meals are delicious! They have specials every day and yesterday I got Carne Con Papa (meat with potatoes-like a beef stew). This is one of my Cuban favorites and it's the best I've had. For under $5.50 I got that with red beans (also some of the best I've had), rice and sweet plantains. I have a hearty appetite and there was enough for lunch and dinner later. I also love their ropa vieja, vaca frita and coffees. I'd rather go here for a $2.00 large cafe con leche than Starbucks. I've been to almost all the Cuban cafes in the Cape and I find this one to be the cleanest too. The only reason it's not quite five stars is because there is room for improvement, if small. I had the chicken soup once and it wasn't up to par. I was hoping for a Cuban (or even Caribbean) style-and it tasted like it came straight out of the Campbell's Chicken Noodle can. I know it didn't-but it was not good.

Normally I have had really good food at this restaurant. Tonight was not that way. The rice was hard and the picadillo was greasy. I did call the restaurant and explained to the first woman that answered the phone and she asked me "what do you want." Then a man got on the phone and told me he apologized. I just wanted to inform them so the next person does not have a bad experience. I will not be back after this visit. Very disappointed.

We were expecting a nice sandwich stop when we happened upon this convenient Cuban eatery and delighted on our excellent find. Much more than sandwiches....we pursued a full menu with cocktails listed with names like Cuba Libre and the usual suspects. Tamales had flavor. The chicken had great flavor. The fried plantain was toothsome. For the most part all the prices were well under par and we felt transported to another place at another time. Tin hanging lamps, boothes, a white tablecloth dining room, great service and the food made this a spot we will be visiting. Full bar is a surprise as its tucked away in a shopping plaza. The margarita I had was real. Not a frothy sweet soda pop but a real lime and tequila marriage. It kicked up the stars to 4!!

The food is always spectacular!! Really like the shredded pork, red beans, plantains, piccadillo, and ropa veiga (sp). The booths are a bit worn out but otherwise the place is clean and bright. The people who work there are always super nice too.

I have had the Cuban sandwich twice before this visit and it has been great. Today was another story. The sandwich had a stale taste and they have got skimpy with the meat. The service was very slow and not very friendly

Gotta start off with their Cuban good crisp bread with mustard and pickles, but go ahead and kick it up a notch and get the 12" super Cuban. The fried pork chunks and maduros are awesome also. Sometimes the service is a little slow and I'm not a fan of having to buy my soda by the can.

The Cuban food is tasty but the service really was lacking. Drinks never got refilled until well after the meal was over and getting the wait staff's attention was very challenging. It's too bad that the service wasn't very attentive because some of the food was pretty good. That said, some of the dishes we got were pretty dry for cuban pork.
